Hatem Al-Shammari is the Founder and Managing Partner of LEXIR Law Firm, based in Baghdad. With over 12 years of experience in corporate, commercial, and investment law, he advises multinational, regional, and local clients on complex transactions and regulatory matters across Iraq.

Hatem’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, market entry and foreign investment, corporate restructurings, joint ventures, banking and FinTech mandates, telecoms, oil & gas, energy, and strategic tax and regulatory issues. Before establishing LEXIR, he held senior roles at a leading international law firm and as in-house counsel, leading high-value projects and cross-border deals that have helped shape major investments in Iraq. He is recognised for his strategic insight, deep understanding of Iraqi law, and his ability to deliver commercially driven, execution-focused advice.
